Why is organic more expensive?

Organic food [...] contains more vitamins, minerals, enzymes and taste than intensively ­farmed produce. It is also free from GMOs, insecticides, pesticides, growth hormones, antibiotics, fertilisers and a whole host of other toxic artificial additives, flavourings, colourings and preservatives. Political rant

"A lengthy political rant. I won’t be cross if you don’t read it.



Basically, people need to take a good long look at their reasons for voting. ‘Punishing’ the government is not a reason. A demand for vague, unspecified ‘change’ is not a reason. ‘We always vote Labour in our family’ is not a reason. A reason is something like ‘I strongly agree with his policies on Europe and the environment’.

Gates Foundation's helping colonize Africa through GM and agro-business

The Gates Foundation, whose science-and-technology efforts are led by a former Monsanto researcher, is helping African governments develop biosafety standards and regulations and training local researchers in the latest plant breeding.
